Daniele Cervino installed as Chair of the Environmental Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association

Daniele Cervino was installed as chair of the Environmental Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association at its annual meeting on May 19, 2011. She also participated on a panel at the annual meeting entitled “Environmental Trends and NJDEP Transformations” lecturing on the topic of environmental insurance products and environmental contract provisions for commercial transactions.

Daniele Cervino moderated a NJSBA breakfast seminar entitled Remedial Action Permit Updates on April 20, 2011. Panelists included NJDEP and insurance industry representatives discussing maintenance and monitoring obligations for engineering controls for remediated sites.

April 8, 2011 - April is National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties, Inc. (CASA) is a private not-for-profit corporation that works to protect the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. CASA recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers who provide a voice in court to assure that each child receives needed services and placement in a safe, permanent home. In recognition of the work of CASA volunteers, Governor Christie has designated April 8th as "CASA Child Advocate Day.” To celebrate this day, CASA has asked local businesses and law firms to "Go Blue” by wearing denim and donating $5 to CASA for each “Go Blue” participant.

Golub & Isabel defends dry cleaners in cost recovery actions

Golub & Isabel is representing several unrelated dry cleaners in several cost recovery actions instituted by landlords or regulatory agencies in New York and New Jersey. Each client has a variety of defenses and many are pursuing coverage under historical insurance policies. Forensic expert testimony is also instrumental in the defense. We are also representing clients who are selling their business or upgrading their equipment pursuant to state grants.

Golub & Isabel represented the purchasers of a large pharmaceutical campus in Morris County and two commercial properties in Paterson. Extensive environmental due diligence and negotiation of ongoing obligations including allocation for compliance with new remedial action permit required by NJDEP. Clients included a private equity fund and a food manufacturer.
